Peak trade winds, 15-25 knots most afternoons. The busiest and most reliable window for kitesurfing at Kite Beach.
North swells bring the biggest, most consistent waves to Encuentro and El Canal. Best months for experienced surfers.
Lighter wind, smaller and friendlier waves — good for beginners, families, and anyone mixing surf with other activities.
GETTING ON THE WATER
Group and private lessons run daily at Encuentro and Perla Marina, from roughly $35-50/person for a 2-hour session, board and rash guard included.
IKO-certified schools at Kite Beach offer 3-hour intro packages (around $150-200) and multi-day certification courses for first-timers.
The Spot and El Canal are walkable from the lodge (10-12 minutes). Encuentro is a 10-minute walk east. Kite Beach is a 12-minute drive or short taxi/moto ride — we can arrange transport at the front desk.
